(Above) This beautiful sturgeon was caught in 1998 near the Dumbarton Bridge on San Francisco Bay. Using lightweight tackle, it was landed by net in about 20 minutes.

The meat was pure white, and when cooked was firm, mild tasting and delicious. We froze some of it and the family enjoyed wonderful fish dinners over the course of a month.
